These terms explain how you may use this learning platform and your responsibilities as a user.
Bright Path Futures, a Community Interest Company registered in the UK, provides online training courses under the name Bright Path Futures Learning. By registering for, accessing or participating in our courses you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Definitions:
· “We”, “Us, “Our” refers to Bright Path Futures or Bright Path Futures Learning.
· “You”, “User”, “Participant” refers to anyone registering for and accessing our courses.
· “Courses” includes online modules, units, webinars, recorded sessions, written materials, downloadable content, assessments, and related resources.
2. Eligibility:
2.1 Participants must normally be 18 years or older, however volunteers aged 16-17 may enrol under the conditions outlined in section[NS1] s 2.2 – 2.5 and 8.4.
2.2 Organisations enrolling staff or volunteers confirm they have permission to register those individuals.
2.3 Supervising organisations are responsible for ensuring that young volunteers:
· Are appropriately supported
· Only undertake tasks suitable for their age and safeguarding status
· Understand the content provided in the training.
2.4 Some course content may include sensitive themes (e.g. trauma, displacement, safeguarding). Where necessary we may:
· Provide advance content warnings.
· Restrict certain courses or units to age 18+ or recommend that under-18s complete modules with a responsible adult or supervisor available to support them.
2.5 We reserve the right to decline or withdraw access for under-18 users if safeguarding concerns arise.
3. Registration and accounts:
3.1 You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
3.2 You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
3.3 Accounts must not be shared with others, including colleagues and friends.
3.4 We may suspend or terminate access if account misuse is detected.
4. Use of course materials
4.1 All course content (text, videos, audio, graphics, assessments, and downloadable materials) is the intellectual property of Bright Path Futures unless otherwise credited.
4.2 You a granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the materials solely for your personal training and professional development.
4.3 You must not:
· Redistribute, sell, or reproduce course materials;
· Publicly share login details or course content;
· Use content for commercial training without written permission;
· Record or capture live sessions unless explicitly allowed.
4.4 You may share learning outcomes or reflections with your organisation, provided no copyrighted materials are copied or distributed.
5. Course access and availability:
5.1 We aim to provide continuous access but do not guarantee that the platform will always be available.
5.2 Scheduled maintenance or unforeseen technical issues may temporarily affect access
5.3 Access to specific courses may be time-limited (e.g. 90 days).
5.4 We reserve the right to update or modify course content at any time.
6. Payments, refunds and cancellations:
6.1 Some courses may be paid, others may be free. Fees will be clearly stated at the point of registration.
6.2 Payments must be made in full before access is granted.
6.3 Refunds may be offered only under the following:
· The wrong course was purchased.
· Access was not provided due to technical issues on our side
· A request is made within 14 days of purchase and before significant course progress has been made.
6.4 No refunds will be given once you have completed more than 25% of the course.
7. Certificates:
7.1 Certificates may be issued upon successful completion of all required activities.
7.2 Certificates are for personal and professional development only. They do not represent formal accreditation unless explicitly stated.
8. Appropriate conduct:
8.1 Participation must remain respectful and aligned with safeguarding practices appropriate when working with vulnerable people.
8.2 You agree not to upload or share:
· Discriminatory, hateful or abusive content
· Confidential or identifiable information about service users
· Inappropriate or harmful material
8.3 We may remove posts or revoke access for violations of these standards.
8.4 Users aged 16-17 must behave responsibly and follow all safeguarding or online safety guidance provided by their organisation or guardian.
9. Safeguarding and confidentiality:
9.1 Course discussions, case studies, assessments and live sessions must maintain confidentiality. Real case information should be anonymised.
9.2 If safeguarding concerns arise during a training session we may follow relevant safeguarding procedures and report concerns where legally required.
10. Data protection and privacy
10.1 We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
10.2 Data may include registration information, progress tracking, assessment results and communications
10.3 We will not share your personal data with third parties except:
· Service providers supporting course delivery (e.g. hosting platforms);
· Where required by law;
· As detailed in our Data Protection and Privacy Policy.
11. Liability
11.1 Courses are designed to provide general guidance and best practice. They do not constitute legal, medical or immigration advice.
11.2 We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee completeness or suitability for all scenarios.
11.3 We are not liable for:
· Personal decisions made based on course content;
· Loss of data or interruptions due to technical issues;
· Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11.4 Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the course.
12. Termination:
12.1 We may terminate your access without refund if:
· You breach these Terms;
· You misuse content;
· You behave inappropriately towards instructors or participants.
12.2 Upon termination all rights to use course materials cease immediately.
13. Changes to Terms:
13.1 We may update these Terms from time to time.
13.2 Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notice.
13.3 Continued use of the training platform indicates acceptance of updated Terms.
14 Governing law:
14.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
14.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in that region.
